FAQ
How do I apply for an OSP travel term?
You can apply for a one month in person language intensive directly on the "Apply" page in the OSP Travel Term section.
How do I know what level I'm in?
Review the curriculum of each level to help us determine where you are at. When you apply, we will arrange an examination to help place you in the level that will benefit you most. If you don't know which level to choose, select "I don't Know".
Can I audit in-person classes?
We offer 5 days of in person auditing. You may attend classes as a guest but you will not be able to participate. You will be responsible for your own travel plans, accommodation, and food. Please keep in mind that our program is held in rural India, accommodation and food are basic, and transportation is sparse. We are a very small volunteer team and are not able to help with your trip plans but if you are able to make it to rural South India, you are welcome to audit classes. Please also be aware that Level 2 and 3 classes are held almost entirely in Tibetan.
How do I organize my travel?
In order to travel to Bylakuppe, you must apply for a PAP, protected area permit ahead of time. Processing time can take up to a month or longer. YOU MAY NOT STAY IN BYLAKUPPE WITHOUT A PERMIT. The local police are extremely strict about this!
