Program Costs
What your program fee covers:
Your comprehensive program fee ensures a seamless and enriching experience during your month in India, including:
Accommodation: Modest lodging at Sera Mey Monastery for the duration of the program.
Meals: Three vegetarian meals per day, provided by the monastery.
When we go on program-organized outings, we're happy to cover your meal expenses. This includes a main entree and one non-alcoholic drink. If you choose to order additional items, like appetizers, desserts, or extra beverages, those will be at your own expense.
Teachers' salaries: For online and in-person Colloquial and Scriptural Tibetan classes, and debate classes
Study Materials: Essential program-specific texts and learning materials.
Local Transportation: All ground transportation for scheduled program activities, including airport transfers in India (on designated arrival/departure days) and excursions.
Monastery Contribution: A significant portion of your fee directly supports Sera Mey Monastery for their invaluable services, facilities, and the profound opportunity they provide for study.
Program Leadership: On-site guidance, support, and logistical management from OSP program directors.
Essential Program Administration: Costs associated with overall program planning, coordination, and support.
Vaccinations: Any necessary vaccinations required for travel to India(that are not covered by your health insurance or government).
Required vaccinations include Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and Typhoid
What Your Program Fee Does NOT Cover:
To ensure clarity, please note that the program fee does not include:
International Airfare: Flights to and from India.
Indian Visa: Application fees and processing costs for your Indian visa.
Travel & Medical Insurance: Travel and medical insurance is suggested and should be secured independently by each participant.
Personal Expenses: Souvenirs, snacks, personal toiletries, laundry services, phone calls, and any other discretionary spending.
Medical Expenses: Costs for personal medical care beyond basic first aid, prescription medications, or pre-existing conditions.
Pre- or Post-Program Travel: Any personal travel or expenses incurred outside of the official program dates and itinerary.
Passport Fees: Costs associated with obtaining or renewing your passport.
Program Costs
Prices for the program vary based on the amount of students that attend each term. The final cost of the program will be announced once all applicants for the term are confirmed and accepted.
Ranging from $2550 - $3200
The more students that come, the smaller the individual program costs can be. We will take a minimum number of three students per term, and a maximum of six.
